I often find the best cure for a bit of melancholy is a new project. And for more immediate results, a quick project is best.
I saw this idea from Miss B. on Pinterest for embroidered lavender sachets. On Vacation Jeremy’s mom brought me some more of her lavender, so that project was just right for me.
The best part was coming up with all the little embroidery designs.
I tried to stick mostly with the purple and green color scheme since they are lavender sachets. I embroidered on a recycled linen fabric that I think is really nice for it’s use as a sachet.
I stitched them up and filled them with fragrant homegrown lavender. And they make me happy to look at. . . and smell.

These are so CUTE!!! You need to teach me how to embroiderer. Wow, Jeanette, you are great. Just looking at the picture made me happy and I swear I could smell the lavender.
I shared this, it is lovely!
Ii meant to say ON Facebook!
LOL! Thank You.
they are so lovely! I love green and purple together. The one with the bees is my absolute favourite
Thank you. When I started looking up little embroidery designs, I found some with bees and knew I just had to do one!
Lovely embroidery! Very nice idea for lavender sachets!
Beautiful! We have lots of lavender this year. I plan on making sachets too 🙂 It’s a great little gift to give around Christmas 🙂
What sweet sachets, love lavender!!
Adorable!
Jeanette, I’m visiting from The Prairie Homestead. Lovely idea! I have so much lavender growing but I have never cut it because I just wasn’t quite sure what I could do with it. I have several sewing machines, but have never been a ‘sewer’…go figure. This post has inspired me though and I want to thank you for sharing your idea ☺
Love! Love! Love!
I’m curious though… maybe you can help me. I totally missed the height of my lavender being in bloom. What I do have is several large lavender bushes (with old blooms on them… oops!) I’ve been thinking of making sachets with the greens because they are also very fragrant. Any experience with this?
You know I’m not really sure. I’m sure that in a sachet where no one can see it that the pleasant fragrance is all that matters. I say try it out!
I think I will… and I’m hoping to use your designs as my inspiration. I’ll have to share how it goes (assuming I ever get around to it.) 🙂
The one with the bra and panties is my favorite. SO perfect. You are superwoman, I swear!
